Joe began his professional cabaret career in the infamous Proud Cabaret in the City of London. In a story Isherwood would be proud of, he moved from having a part-time job as the cloakroom attendant and knicker-picker, via playing songs at the piano in the interval, to finally becoming the resident compere after mere months of working there.

Joe then became the house compere 3 nights a week at the infamous Proud Camden and hosted everything from their supper-club shows, and live music club nights to fetish parties and everything in between.

When the company opened their newest super-club, Proud Embankment, in the West End, Joe was of course there to compere the star-studded grand opening and has become a regular face there as the new club has gone from strength to strength.

Ever since he first saw a picture of Noël Coward (the master) on stage at The Café De Paris, it has been Joe’s ambition to play there. In 2015 this dream came true. The home of London cabaret,  ‘Café’ has been host to international superstars for nearly 100 years and so to be passed that showbiz baton really has been a career highlight.

Beginning by directing the 2015 Christmas Spectacular, Joe has become part of the inner workings of this magnificent venue ever since. He hosted the regular Saturday night Showtime Spectacular until it’s final night on NYE 2019 and has also been compere of the award-winning concept shows ‘The Service’, ‘Seven Sins’ and the currently running ‘Disco Cabaret Show’.

Joe was involved as one of the driving creative forces of Bunga Bunga’s flagship venue in Covent Garden from its launch in January 2017. Aside from hosting, he was also responsible for concept and direction of the majority of shows, including ‘There’s no place like Rome’, ‘Burlesquoni’ and ‘Santa’s Paradise”.

At the original Bunga Bunga in Battersea Joe has overhauled the entertainment formats. Taking the spirit of the company, combining it with telenovela style and creating characters of La Famiglia Bunga, including Mama Bunga, who Joe himself plays, as well as her children Donatella, Gianni and Luigi, Uncle Silvio and Cousin Porcini.

A master of character improvisation, Joe is comedian, host, singer, bingo caller and drag queen, all rolled into one.
